The Berth 1 life extension project will start in late 2026 and will be complete in early spring 2027.

This will involve construction completed between sailings and at night; however, Berth 1 will be closed for three weeks between February 3 - 23, 2027. The closure will enable some existing structures to be serviced or removed, and new structures constructed and installed in their place. The construction and berth closure work has been scheduled in the winter to avoid busy travel periods.

An alternate service plan will be in place to ensure service levels are sustained at Langdale.

• Sailings will load and unload using Berth 2
  • This berth only has single-level loading
    
    
• Two-ship sailing schedule will be implemented

Service for Route 13 (Gambier and Keats), via the dock to the left of Berth 1 will not be impacted during the construction or the closure of Berth 1.

While the majority of schedule changes from the Langdale Berth 1 life extension construction and the alternative service plan will be felt by customers traveling between Langdale and Horseshoe Bay, there are impacts to certain sailings between Departure Bay and Horseshoe Bay between February 3-23, 2027.

When the two-ship service goes into effect between Langdale and Horseshoe Bay during the Berth 1 closure, a vessel normally servicing the Departure Bay route will be diverted. This will impact the following sailings:

Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay:

• There will be no 6:15 am sailings from Horseshoe Bay.
  
  
• The first scheduled sailing from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay will be at 8:35 am

• Customers can take the 5:15 am or the 7:45 am Tsawwassen to Duke Point sailings, Monday to Saturday.

• After the 4:00 pm sailing has left Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay, the next sailing will be at 8:30 pm

  • 5:45 pm Duke Point to Tsawwassen daily

• The Earls Cove – Saltery Bay route has been adjusted to connect with the Queen of Surrey's main car deck only schedule.
  
  
• Customers connecting to/from sailings on the Queen of Oak Bay will have longer waits since these sailings are not timed to connect with the Earls Cove – Saltery Bay sailings.
  
  
• The 7:05 pm sailings from Horseshoe Bay will be the last northbound connection to the Earls Cove – Saltery Bay route.
  
  
  • Customers wishing to reach Powell River would need to ensure they are on the 7:05 pm sailing from Horseshoe Bay in order to connect to the 10:00 pm sailing from Earls Cove.
