Neighbourhood Check-in Fall 2023
8 months agoWe want to know what is important to you, and your community.
As we continue to work on building the connection between communities and BC Ferries, our goal is to create opportunities to collaborate and hold meaningful conversations. One of the ways we are doing this is through our community drop-in sessions. These sessions are a chance for us to hear directly from those who live, work and play in the communities we serve, and for community members to connect with us face-to-face.
We understand not everyone is able to attend the upcoming drop-in on Wednesday, September 27 between 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm at Mansons Hall on Cortes Island in person. Therefore, this page is available as another opportunity to provide us with your questions, comments, and topics that you would like to discuss. Leave your feedback below, or 'like' other community members' posts to help us shape our conversations.
Please note:
Thank you for participating. Please be aware we will not be responding to questions or posts left on this board directly. If you have specific questions and would like to speak with one of our team members, please send your question to engagement@bcferries.com
As a reminder. we are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment and one that allows everyone an equal opportunity to participate. Any disrespectful or abusive comments will be taken down. This website is moderated 24/7 by an expert global moderation team from Bang the Table. To learn more visit Moderation Policy.

Norleenover 1 year agoPlease keep lane 7 as priority loading at Campbell River ferry terminal. This Cortes resident depends on a connecting ferry.
0 comment3Sandyover 1 year agoBring back Lane 7 in CR for those going to the Cortes ferry at least for the thru ferry runs and especially for the last thru run of the day
This is important to be able to make the next ferry and helps everything to run more efficiently at the Heriot Bay Terminal. It also helps the ferry workers at Heriot Bay who are waiting for the thru ferry traffic to watch for the clump of vehicles from the last ferry rather than the sporadic arrival of vehicles and not knowing if more are coming from the last ferry.
0 comment11Nover 1 year agoMake it easier for Cortes residents!
Please don't forget how difficult is it for Cortesians to access their homes or errands. We need more ferries in the summer to take the load off that tourists create, we need guaranteed loading for residents to get back to Cortes in the evenings and to leave in the morning to their doctor's appointments and other important errands, and we need Lane 7 back, as well as better training of the BCFerry staff unloading CR-Quadra ferry on letting the Cortes folks really go first, not just randomly. We often still have (if unlucky) several hours to get home.
0 comment1Bella McKnightover 1 year agoLane 7 priority
During the summer months and any busy travel time it is necessary to have priority loading (lane 7) for Cortes residents.
0 comment9Lindaover 1 year agoA bigger ferry capacity in the Summer. Guaranteed boarding for residents of Cortes from Campbell River and Heriot Bay.

Your Ferry Advisory Committee
Campbell River - Quadra Island - Cortes Island
Chair: Michael Lynch - mlynch.fac@gmail.com
BC Ferries is fortunate to be able to work with 13 Ferry Advisory Committees (FAC) located in communities up and down the coast of British Columbia. These committees are typically made up of 8-12 volunteer members who represent the ferry-dependent communities we serve. Ferry Advisory Committees play a fundamental role in facilitating information sharing between communities and BC Ferries. The committees provide important advice and insight that helps inform day-to-day operations, terminal and vessel improvements, schedule changes, and other initiatives.

- On January 17, 2023, after 58 years of service the Powell River Queen put in her final day of work on the Campbell River – Quadra run. Here’s a look at that final day and a glimpse into what the ship has meant for the workers who have served onboard, and alongside, and the communities it has connected.
