Barge / landing craft booking requests
BC Ferries is now accepting booking requests for the alternate barge / landing craft service transporting essential goods and services between Gorge Harbour (Cortes Island) and Heriot Bay Government Dock (Quadra Island) during the Heriot Bay and Whaletown terminal closures from February 9th to March 1st, 2026.

Commercial vehicles
Advanced booking is required for commercial vehicles, and those transporting essential goods and services.
Commercial vehicle types are those that are registered 5,500 kg/GVW or greater (subject to tidal restriction and dock limitation).
Passenger vehicles
Passenger vehicle booking requests may be accepted in special circumstances, depending on space and approval.
Submitting a request does not guarantee a spot.
All booking requests will be triaged and receive a response.
Individuals on the waitlist will be contacted if space becomes available.
The regular fares for the barge and vehicle drivers will be collected as normal through the ticket booths.
