Project updates June - July 2026

Construction work is ongoing at both Nanaimo Harbour Terminal and Descanso Bay Terminal (Gabriola Island).

Nanaimo Harbour Terminal: construction is anticipated to be complete by mid-to-end July 2026. Work will be undertaken at night (intermittently) with noise disruptions expected to be minimal. Overnight inspections will take place the weekend of Friday/Saturday nights June 26/27, 2026.

Gabriola Terminal: construction is anticipated to be complete by mid-to-late July. The majority of this work will be completed overnight; however, some daytime work will also occur. Noise disruptions are also expected to be minimal.

The construction, at either terminal, is not expected to affect regular ferry operations, and no sailing cancellations or schedule changes are anticipated.
