Project updates May/June 2026

Construction and maintenance work is ongoing at both Nanaimo Harbour Terminal and Descanso Bay Terminal (Gabriola Island).

Work originally scheduled for completion by the end of May 2026 will continue through to the end of June 2026 to complete some additional repairs necessary to maintain safe and reliable operations.

Some overnight work is planned and is expected to conclude by the end of June 2026, with noise disruptions expected to be minimal.

Painting of the Nanaimo Terminal trestle will continue through to the end of July 2026, with minimal noise and limited paint-related odor anticipated.

The construction and maintenance work is not expected to affect regular ferry operations, and no sailing cancellations or schedule changes are anticipated at this time.
